     I began searching for a hill country ranch property near the end of summer, 2007. I wanted a property for hunting and recreation for my family. After spending more than nine months talking to numerous brokers, reviewing many, many properties on various websites and personally visiting about 20 ranches, I was exhausted and confused. The properties were running together in my mind and I was losing track of what I had looked at.     
     In February 2008, I met Sheldon Grothaus, owner and broker with Texas Ranch Sales  LLC in Hondo. I gave Sheldon a description of the ranch I was looking for, but yet to locate and he said he would locate the property that I wanted. In mid April, he showed me the Medina County ranch that I later purchased. It had everything I was looking for and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. There are lots of oak trees, good roads, close access to town, good water well and the price was right.     
      In addition to quickly locating the perfect property, Sheldon walked me through negotiations and closing the deal. The entire process took less than four weeks and was painless. During the months following my purchase, Sheldon has provided every contact I have needed to get my place up and running. He directed me to places where I could purchase deer feeders and hunting blinds. He also put me in touch with a dozer operator, building contractor, water system personnel and others . I just wish I had found Texas Ranch Sales sooner, it would have made my life much easier.
