Description:         The ranch is part of the Marfa Plateau, mile high desert grassland of basin range topography between the Davis Mountains to the northeast and the Chinati Mountains and the Rio Grande River on the south and west. The ranch headquarters includes a variety of outbuildings, corrals, working pens, and water troughs.
This broad open grassland has incredible views to various mountain ranges such as: peaks of the Davis Mountains and Mt. Livermore to the north, and the Sierra Viejos, Capote and Chinati Mountains to the south. The ranch lies neighboring west of Marfa and Alpine and is surrounded by larger ranches to the NW and south. The property’s very convenient location just off of State Hwy. 90 offers excellent access and travel to El Paso, San Antonio and the Midland/Odessa areas; yet never loosing the sense of privacy the ranch offers.
Landscape in this area is predominantly flat to rolling grassland surrounded by rugged, blue mountain ranges that can be seen from all angles on the property. This immense area lies in a tapered elevation range between 4,430 and 4,589 feet allowing for mix of flora from the mid- high Chihuahuan Desert such as Spanish dagger, yucca, sotol, and cholla with a dominate grassland of cane bluestem, sideoats grama, blue grama, black grama, tobosa, bear grass, and scattered with native brush.

Wildlife:                This low fenced ranch being part of the Marfa Plateau provides sanctuary to many species of birds, raptors, songbirds, and upland game birds including Mourning Dove and Blue (Scaled) Quail. Pronghorn Antelope, Desert Mule Deer and Javelina are among the larger wildlife animals that roam the boundless grasslands in this area. The grasses and restricted brush provide excellent habitat for these game and non- game animals.

Water:                   The Marfa plateau has excellent groundwater and the property has one well which is not in use.

Improvements:    There is a large equipment and working barn with an assortment of pipe livestock pens/corrals with weigh scales, and loading chutes located near the house. This is a working ranch with all the infrastructure needed to run a small cow operation.

Remarks:              This is “Giant” Country, one of the last unspoiled grassland frontiers, nestled deep in the heart of West Texas, the Marfa Plateau has maintained much of the atmosphere and appearance of the old west. This is a perfect opportunity to own a piece of the Chihuahuan Desert Grasslands, a nature lover’s heaven.
